Tom Ford Tom Ford, chairman of the CFDA, addressed his industry looking like the Zoolander cliché of a fashion person, wearing oversized sunglasses and an all-black ensemble featuring a satin scarf tied around his neck. He spoke with the affected accent of an American college student just back from studying in London. What should clothes look like right now? “The last thing I want to see are serious clothes,” he said. “We want to escape, we want to smile—what’s going on in the world doesn’t make us want to smile, but the customer is going to walk into the store in spring and […]

The organisation revealed in a statement that on Monday the security forces arrested activist Monem Mohamed Al-Nazuri, who participated in the protests. According to preliminary figures, the number of detainees has reached 30. The organisation is however still working on documenting the arrests. The organisation called on the Ministry of Interior of the interim government, affiliated with the Tobruk Parliament, to end the arbitrary arrests and release the demonstrators immediately, while […]
High-ranking federal health officials vehemently denied on Wednesday that political appointees are manipulating or meddling with U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) weekly scientific reports outlining the progress of the Chinese coronavirus pandemic. During a hearing by the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services, Dr. Robert Redfield, the CDC Director, joined two top public health officials who dismissed claims that political interference is compromising his agency’s scientific Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Reports (MMWRs). “At no time has the scientific integrity of the MMWR been compromised, and I can say that under my watch, it will not be compromised,” […]

The COVID-19 pandemic unleashed one of the worst economic downturns the world has seen since the 1930s Great Depression, with millions of job losses, destruction of small and medium-sized businesses, and the disruption of global supply chains in the first half of 2020. The OECD’s Interim Economic Outlook, released Wednesday, provides a glimmer of hope for the world economy in the second half of the year, as the downturn is not as severe as previously feared. However, this is problematic for policy-makers who have unleashed easy-money policies during the pandemic to artificially inflate economies and boost risk assets, as policy support in the second half […]

(Natural News) The deranged Left, showing signs of mass mental illness, are rapidly destroying the English language, pushing organizations to change the spelling of common words in order to promote their perverted idea of “inclusiveness, fairness and equality.” Conference organization TEDx London has already begun to cater to the left’s demands and will now refer to women as “womxn.” The left wants to remove the “men” out of “women” to highlight the “prejudice” and “discrimination” that the word “women” incites toward women. Things became not merely dramatic in the Assange courtroom today, but spiteful and nasty. There were two real issues, the evidence and the procedure. On the evidence, there were stark details of the dreadful regime Assange will face in US jails if extradited. On the procedure, we saw behaviour from the prosecution QC that went well beyond normal cross examination and was a real attempt to denigrate and even humiliate the witness. I hope to prove that to you […]

WASHINGTON ― As Congress readies a stopgap spending measure this week, the defense industry is girding for a long-term funding patch that could delay both new procurement programs and needed fiscal certainty into next year. Democrats say they are considering whether to offer a continuing resolution that would stretch 2020 funding levels into next February or March, or whether to go along with a stopgap through mid December, as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is seeking. Trade groups said this week that passing a CR by the Sept. 30 deadline is better than a government shutdown, but they warned that […]
Many wondered whether JP Morgan and CEO Jamie Dimon might be left with an embarrassing PR disaster when it emerged earlier this week that another COVID-19 outbreak had been reported inside its Manhattan office building on Madison Ave. After all, the bank was the first on Wall Street to demand that its traders start returning to the office. But as if that weren’t enough, the bank’s comms department also publicized research claiming that working from home helped to drain the “creative energy” of its staff. While we imagine some of JPM’s clients appreciate the bank’s reassuring perspective on the importance of […]

Following public protests last October, the people of Iraq unified in an almost unprecedented manner. Baghdad witnessed the largest demonstrations condemning the country’s political system, ruling forces and parties, which prompted the authorities to resort to killing, intimidation and arrests to stop crowds of protesters surrounding the Green Zone. It also prompted the then Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, to resign. The protesters did not belong to a single sect, but were Iraqi first and foremost, especially in Baghdad. The only flag raised was the Iraqi flag, and no other slogan was chanted except “We want a country”. It was the […]
A member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, Peter Kirsanow said Monday the New York Times’ “1619 Project” is “one of the most significant attempts to propagandize history” he has seen in his lifetime. Kirsanow, a partner with the law firm of Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff, and chair of the board of directors of the Center for New Black Leadership, presented his views at a week-long virtual conference held by the National Association of Scholars (NAS), a nonprofit that “upholds the standards of a liberal arts education that fosters intellectual freedom, searches for the truth, and promotes virtuous citizenship.” […]

Interior Minister Horst Seehofer on Wednesday defended Germany’s decision to take a further 1,553 refugees from camps in Greece, saying the country could be proud of its role in Europe’s migration crisis, Reuters reports. On Tuesday, Germany announced it would take in 408 families, mostly children and their parents, after a fire devastated the overcrowded Moria refugee camp on the island of Lesbos, leaving almost 13,000 migrants homeless. Attorney General William Barr told WGN Radio on Monday that Democrats were demanding “[Joe] Biden or no peace,” adding that they were “creating an incendiary situation” that would lead to “rule by the mob” and a “socialist path.” Speaking to conservative Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass for his podcast, The Chicago Way, Barr was unusually strident: The so-called “Resistance,” which is not a proper term to use in our democracy — you know, instead of loyal opposition, it became actual resistance. There undoubtedly are many people in the government who surreptitiously work to thwart the administration, and the turn now to the mob violence, […]

The Senate Homeland Security Committee voted on Wednesday to authorize subpoenas for dozens of Obama-era officials involved in ‘spygate,’ including former FBI Director James Comey, former CIA Director John Brennan, former DNI James Clapper — and longtime US intelligence operative Stephen Halper, who the Obama administration paid nearly half-a-million dollars to help the FBI spy on the 2016 Trump campaign. The committee authorized chairman Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) to issue notices for taking depositions, subpoenas, records requests, and testimony related to the “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation – along with the DOJ Inspector General’s review of said investigation, as well as the “unmasking” […]
Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, told a Senate committee Wednesday that he believes face masks are “the most important, powerful public health tool we have” to fight COVID-19—and even better than a potential vaccine. “This face mask is more guaranteed to protect me against COVID than when I take a COVID vaccine because the immunogenicity may be 70 percent and if I don’t get an immune response the vaccine’s not going to protect me,” Redfield said. He strongly recommended all Americans wear face masks, especially young people who continue to spike the curve of infections. […]

NBC News reports the following: Two months after top Pentagon officials vowed to get to the bottom of whether the Russian government bribed the Taliban to kill American service members, the commander of troops in the region says a detailed […]
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s (DPRK) ongoing repairs to one of its shipyards signal the possible resumption of underwater ballistic missile testing, according to recent remarks issued by the top general of South Korea’s air force. Citing Won In Choul, Chief of Staff of the Republic of Korea Air Force and nominee for chairman of Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Associated Press reported on Wednesday that North Korea may soon begin carrying out new submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) tests upon completion of repairs to its northeastern Sinpo shipyard. Won noted that the South Korean military will keep an eye […]
The state-run Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) is to open its first office outside the United Arab Emirates in Tel Aviv, the Abu Dhabi Media Office said on Wednesday, following normalisation of relations between the UAE and Israel, Reuters reports. Israel on Tuesday signed normalisation agreements at the White House in Washington with both the UAE and Bahrain. “Tel Aviv is the first in a planned network of international offices that will support companies looking to expand their operations in Abu Dhabi, and to connect innovators from around the world to solve global challenges,” the statement on Twitter said. ADIO and […]
Domino’s Pizza donated $110 million to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, making it the largest donation the hospital has seen in its history. Domino’s and its franchisees have pledged to raise the money over the next ten years. The money will go towards 140 apartments St. Jude is developing on its Memphis campus for families of children who are receiving treatment, and the facility will be called “The Domino’s Village” to honor the company’s gift, WATE reported. “The Domino’s Village will provide a home-away-from-home for the thousands of kids and families who come to St. Jude from around the world,” said […]
WASHINGTON — Secretary of Defense Mark Esper today announced billions in new funding for U.S. Navy shipbuilding after a major review of its force structure – but it is unclear where that funding will come from. In a speech delivered at the RAND Corporation Tuesday, Esper called for a Navy of “over 350 ships,” specifically by increasing the Navy’s shipbuilding funding account. “We will build this fleet in such a way that balances tomorrow’s challenges with readiness needs and does not create a hollow navy in the process,” Esper said. “To achieve this outcome, we must increase funding for shipbuilding and […]
After “rogue” Chinese scientist Dr. Li-Meng Yan was silenced by Twitter yesterday over her claims that the coronavirs was “created in a lab”, Tucker Carlson had her on his show last night to try and give her message – which has been condemned as fraudulent by the press – a broader airing. After telling Tucker and his audience that the CCP is trying to “disappear” her, Dr. Mong said SARS-CoV-2 was a “frankenvirus” designed to target humans, and that it was “intentionally released.” “It could never comes from nature,” she said, at one point, referring to COVID-19. Of course, the mainstream […]

According to the Bulgarian National Radio, several hundred protesters blocked the Knyaz Aleksandar Dondukov Boulevard in front of the parliament and threw eggs at the building. The protesters were calling on the government to resign, and law enforcement officers pushed them away from the parliament building. Bulgaria has been rocked by month-long protests against the centre-right government of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. President Rumen Radev […]
A potential planet… where no planet should be. An international team of astronomers utilizing NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite and data obtained from the now-retired Spitzer space telescope have reported an astounding potential discovery of a surviving planet closely orbiting a white dwarf. So what’s the big deal? Scientists have found many exoplanets in close orbits of their parent stars. Here’s the confusing part: The way a white dwarf is created destroys nearby objects either by incineration or gravitational destruction. White dwarfs form when stars like the Sun near the end of their life cycles. They swell up, expand to hundreds […]
One-time QAnon supporter Lauren Witzke won the Republican Senate primary in Delaware on Tuesday, campaigning on a pledge to institute a decade-long moratorium on all immigration and beating a rival candidate endorsed by the state GOP by nearly 14 percentage points. Witzke’s win marks the second time a fan of the dangerous pro-Trump QAnon conspiracy theory has won a GOP Senate nomination this cycle, although Witzke said in January that she no longer promotes QAnon. But while Witzke has been photographed wearing a QAnon T-shirt and has repeatedly posted QAnon hashtags on social media, even as she now claims not to […]

The UN on Wednesday dispatched six trucks with humanitarian aid to northwestern Syria, where millions of people remain in need of assistance due to internal conflict, Anadolu reports. The trucks crossed over into Syria’s Idlib province from the Cilvegozu border gate in Turkey’s southern Hatay province. The aid will be distributed among residents of Idlib and nearby rural areas. Syria has been ravaged by a civil war since early 2011, when the Assad regime cracked down on pro-democracy protesters. Hundreds of thousands of people have been killed and more than 10 million displaced, according to UN estimates. Idlib falls within a […]
Senate Majority Whip John Thune (R-S.D.) warned Wednesday that the bigger the price tag for any relief package, the more difficult it would be to get Senate Republicans on board. “If the number gets too high, anything that got passed in the Senate will be passed mostly with Democrat votes and a handful of Republicans so it’s gonna have to stay within a realistic range if we want to maximize, optimize the number of Republican senators that will vote for it,” Thune said. But Democratic congressional leaders, who had come under pressure from moderate House Democrats to push for additional federal […]
Arte Moreno, the owner of the Los Angeles Angels, told a gathering of Latino voters that it is “very necessary to vote for President Trump” in 2020. Speaking to a Latinos for Trump event in Phoenix, Arizona, on Monday, Moreno sought to rally Hispanic voters for the president, according to the Arizona Republic. “We all know where we’ve been,” Moreno told the group. “It’s necessary to focus on today and the future, and it’s very necessary to vote for President Trump.” The Vietnam veteran who parlayed his stake in Phoenix-based Outdoor Systems advertising in 1984 into an $8.3 billion stock sale […]
WASHINGTON — While the Air Force’s new information warfare command has reached its full operational capability less than a year after it was created, it still has work to do in order to fully integrate all its combined capabilities in a mature fashion. That’s the assessment of Brig. Gen. Bradley Pyburn, deputy commander of 16th Air Force, who on Tuesday laid out a three-pronged criteria — deconfliction, synchronization and integration — for assessing the command’s maturity during a virtual event hosted by AFCEA’s Alamo chapter. The command combines what was previously known as 24th and 25th Air Force, placing cyber, intelligence, […]
Every week, analysts and pundits pour over the latest weekly jobs report looking for signs of life. Every month, we dive into the monthly unemployment numbers hoping they signal economic recovery. But these unemployment numbers don’t tell the whole story. The government economic shutdowns in response to the coronavirus pandemic have deeply wounded the economy in ways that won’t immediately show up in the numbers. In fact, they could leave scars on the economy that don’t fade for years. Many people still believe the US economy will quickly recover once scientists develop an effective coronavirus vaccine or the pandemic simply runs […]

(Natural News) While streaming on Facebook Live the other day, Michael Caputo, the Trump-appointed head of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), told Americans that they should probably stock up on ammunition before the November election because things are about to get crazy. According to Caputo, Democrats are plotting an armed insurrection in the event that Donald Trump wins reelection. Caputo also believes that his own political opponents “are going to have to kill me” if Trump wins, which is why he, too, is stocking up on ammo. “If you carry guns, buy ammunition, ladies and gentlemen, because it’s […]

During the prime ministry of Benjamin Netanyahu, who signed an agreement with the UAE and Bahrain to normalize relations, nearly 3,500 Palestinians, including many women and children, were martyred and thousands of others injured in the attacks of Israeli forces, Anadolu reports. President Donald Trump has taken a 47 to 46 percent national lead from the aging and enfeebled Joe Biden in the latest polling from Rasmussen. “The survey of 2,500 Likely Voters was conducted September 9-10 and 13-15,” per the polling firm, and this is more proof of Trump’s momentum. In this same poll last week, Biden was up 48 to 46 percent. The week prior Biden was up 49 to 45 percent. That is a steady five point total shift in Trump’s direction over two weeks. In Rasmussen’s daily tracking poll, Trump now enjoys a 52 percent job approval rating, compared to […]
WASHINGTON ― U.S. State Department officials defended Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s firing of the agency’s independent watchdog, telling angry lawmakers that it had nothing to do with a probe of U.S. arms sales to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. In a tense hearing, lawmakers questioned State Department officials over State Department Inspector General Steve Linick’s firing in May, as his office was probing last year’s $8 billion arms to Saudi Arabia, UAE and Jordan, which skirted Congress by means of an emergency declaration. House Foreign Affairs Committee Eliot Engel, D-N.Y., said the committee had “real concerns” the firing […]
During the early days of the coronavirus outbreak, department stores tumbled into bankruptcy – like dominoes. After Fitch downgraded 9 retailers in one day, including Macy’s, Nordstrom and JC Penney, department stores filed for bankruptcy protection, or scrambled to secure birdge financing, delaying the inevitable liquidation reckoning. The collapse hammered CMBX 6, what we’ve termed the “Big Short 2.0” trade, reversing the fortunes of Carl Icahn and other traders who saw the melting ice cubes as department store anchor tenants abandoned American malls (though Icahn’s call that 2020 would be “’08 all over again” for stocks didn’t exactly pan out). Neiman […]
Four US lawmaker sent a letter to UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson about the repercussions of the Internal Market Bill on the future of US-UK trade relations post-Brexit. The much-debated bill, stipulating certain amendments to the Withdrawal Agreement, passed the House of Commons on Tuesday. Dr Mark Shanahan, associate professor and head of the Politics and International Relations Department at the University of Reading, believes that the risk of undermining the Good Friday Agreement that now exists after the adoption of the Internal Market Bill could botch the UK chances to clinch a trade deal with the United States. Sputnik: Four […]
Things got extremely awkward on Fox News panel show Outnumbered on Wednesday after former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich tied billionaire financier George Soros—often the focus of anti-Semitic tropes—to violence in cities, prompting the show’s co-hosts to directly confront him on why he was invoking the liberal philanthropist. Towards the end of a discussion on the property damage that’s been caused by violent protests over police brutality, Gingrich—who is now a Fox News contributor—insisted that the real issue was with local elected leaders. “The number one problem in almost all the cities is George Soros-elected, left-wing, anti-police, pro-criminal district attorneys […]

In the hearing, Undersecretary of State for Management Brian Bulatao laid out several areas where he contended Linick failed in his job, including that he’d failed to complete a legally required audit on time, that under Linick fewer inspections were started and fewer inquiries were closed, that internal surveys showed low morale in the inspector general’s office. Bulatao also implied Linick might have been responsible for leaking a draft inspector general report to the press. A spokesperson for Linick did not immediately offer comment on Bulatao’s allegations, but Linick has in the past noted that an outside investigation found no evidence […]
The following article is sponsored by StopSocializedMedicine.org and authored by Andrew F. Quinlan, co-founder and president of the Center for Freedom and Prosperity. After months of teasing it, President Trump announced on Sunday the signing of an Executive Order (EO) aimed at lowering certain prescription drug prices. At a Nevada campaign rally the President said, “The drug companies don’t like me too much.” Perhaps not, but patients shouldn’t be too thrilled with him, either, as they are the ones who will ultimately suffer. The president calls it a “most favored nation” policy, but it has nothing to do with the long-standing […]

The legal battle between Apple and Epic Games continued Wednesday as Apple responded to Epic Games request for a preliminary injunction (which, if successful, would force Apple to restore Fortnite to the App Store). Using scathing language, Apple’s lawyers argued that the gaming company couldn’t prove any lasting injury from the app-store ban, arguing that “Epic started a fire, and poured gasoline on it, and now asks this court for emergency assistance in putting it out,” adding that Epic can fix the problem “by simply adhering to the contractual terms that have profitably governed its relationship with Apple for years”. Epic […]

(Natural News) While most Americans continue to struggle against shutdown Democrats who continue to keep portions of their state’s economies shut down months after telling their citizens they just needed a few weeks to ‘bend the curve’ of the COVID pandemic, they are oblivious to what’s coming in just a few short weeks. The world’s largest population of Shia Muslims outside Iran is found in neighbouring Pakistan where they account for an estimated 15 to 20 per cent of the population. Although a sizeable minority in the country’s four provinces and major cities, they are the majority in the northernmost autonomous region of Gilgit-Baltistan. Relations between Pakistani Shia and the larger Sunni community have been largely harmonious since the creation of Pakistan in 1947 after the partition of India. Sectarianism was never really at the forefront of identity politics at the time and the country’s secular founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who hailed from an […]
Mozambique on Tuesday condemned the apparent brutal execution of a naked woman by men in army uniforms and ordered an investigation. In a video of unknown origin that went viral on social media this month, armed men in military uniforms chase and beat the naked woman, whom they accuse of working for Islamic State jihadist affiliate Al-Shabab. The men then execute the woman via gunfire. No one in the video has yet been identified. Amnesty International appears to have verified that the video is of a recent event in Mozambique, calling for an investigation to confirm the circumstances surrounding it.
