The U.S. Army Contracting Command–Detroit Arsenal and GM Defense LLC, a subsidiary of General Motors, announced an agreement worth about $214.3 million for build, field and sustain the Army’s new Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV). The U.S. Department of Defense said Tuesday that Lockheed Martin, Raytheon Javelin Joint Venture won a new million contract modification to cover the purchase of additional Javelin Weapon System. The modification, from U.S. Army Contracting Command, is valued at more than $121 million. Work will be performed in Tucson, Arizona, with an estimated completion date of Aug. 31, 2023. FLIR Systems was awarded a $20.6 million contract by the U.S. Army to manufacture and deliver Black Hornet Soldier-borne sensors. The company press release said that advanced nano-unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) will support platoon- and small unit-level surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities as part of the Army’s Soldier Borne Sensor (SBS) program.
