How Can Susan Rice Know What Obama and Comey Said if Sally Yates Says She Was Not Present?

According to Sally Yates, OBAMA DISMISSED THE GROUP (i.e., Susan Rice, Jim Clapper, John Brennan and “others” from the National Security Council) and asked Yates and FBI Director Jim Comey to “stay behind.” It was Obama who brought up Michael Flynn’s conversation with the Russian Ambassador and specifically identified “SANCTIONS” as the substance of that conversation.

Obama then said, according to Yates, that he did not want any additional information on the matter, but was seeking information on whether the Obama White House should be treating Flynn differently going forward.

Now we have the Susan Rice account of this meeting and it differs markedly from Yates. How could Susan Rice know what was said in the January meeting? She wrote this email 15 days after the meeting the email is supposed to record.

Here is the header from the email.

Rice says she was in the meeting in her email but this conflicts with testimony from Sally Yates.

Let me point you to the salient points. According to the first paragraph, Susan Rice and Sleepy Joe Biden were present for the “follow on” conversation Barack Obama had with Sally Yates and Jim Comey. Sally Yates said nothing about Joe Biden and she was very clear that everyone but her and Comey left the office.

Rice then wants us to know that Obama kicked off the conversation by insisting that he was not “asking about, initiating or instructing anything from a law enforcement perspective”.

Obama’s next move, according to Rice’s fabricated account, directs the staff to “ascertain” if there is any reason the Obama team cannot fully share intelligence relative to  Russia.

Rice then hangs the saddle on Jim Comey’s back. Comey affirms he’s doing everything by the book (except we now know he overruled the FBI agent recommending closing the case on Michael Flynn). It was Comey, according to Rice, not Obama who raised the specter of Michael Flynn chatting up the Russians. Comey could not point to any specific violation of classified information by Flynn, but commented that the level of communication is “unusual.”

COMEY urged probe into Flynn by misrepresenting Russian contacts, declassified memo shows — RT USA News

Ex-FBI director James Comey pushed to investigate Trump’s incoming national security adviser Michael Flynn despite lacking any evidence Flynn had shared classified info with Russian officials, a newly-declassified memo reveals.

It was Comey who told President Barack Obama and other administration officials that “incoming NSA Flynn is speaking frequently with Russian Ambassador Kislyak” in a meeting documented in the January 2017 memo by National Security Advisor Susan Rice, the unredacted first page of which was obtained by CBS on Tuesday.

The FBI director admits he “has no indication thus far that Flynn has passed classified information to Kislyak,” and no real basis for his insistence that the probe must go on.

The only thing backing his hunch that the meetings between the general and the Russian diplomat “could be an issue”?

The level of communication is unusual,” Comey tells Obama, according to Rice, hinting that the National Security Council should “potentially” avoid passing “sensitive information related to Russia” to Flynn.

The FBI director did not elaborate on what is supposed to be “unusual” about an incoming foreign policy official speaking with a Russian counterpart, especially in the midst of what was then a rapidly-unraveling diplomatic relationship between the two countries with Obama expelling 35 Russian diplomats and imposing sanctions over alleged-but-never-substantiated “election interference.” Given the circumstances, an absence of communication might have been more unusual. But the timing is certainly auspicious.

Rice, Flynn’s predecessor who authored the memo, relates that the January 5 meeting followed “a briefing by [Intelligence Committee] leadership on Russian hacking during the 2016 Presidential election.”

The previous day, the FBI field office assigned with investigating Flynn attempted to close the case against him, called CROSSFIRE RAZOR, after having found “no derogatory information” to justify continued inclusion in the overarching CROSSFIRE HURRICANE probe (the “Russian collusion” investigation). They were blocked from doing so by Agent Peter Strzok, who added that the orders to keep the investigation going came from the “7th floor” – i.e. agency leadership. The Flynn investigation had been underway since August, beginning the day after Strzok discussed an ‘insurance policy’ that was supposed to keep then-candidate Donald Trump out of office with Comey’s deputy, Andrew McCabe.

While Comey describes his probe of Flynn as “proceeding ‘by the book’” after Obama repeatedly stresses he wants only a “by the book” investigation – both parties presumably hoping to avoid exactly the sequence of revelatory events that are currently unfolding – recently-unsealed documents from the case against Flynn indicate the general was entrapped, with the FBI’s goal being to “prosecute him or get him fired” with an ambush-style interview.

They got both their wishes – after agents tricked him into sitting for questioning without a lawyer present, Flynn was accused of lying about his contacts with Kislyak, fired from his post in the White House, and subsequently pled guilty to lying to a federal agent.

The Department of Justice has dropped its charges against Flynn, citing gross misconduct and abuse of power at the FBI, which it claims had no basis for launching its investigation. However, US District Judge Emmet Sullivan has attempted to block the dismissal, appointing a retired judge as independent prosecutor to both argue against the Justice Department’s move and pursue perjury charges against Flynn – essentially charging him with lying about lying.

On Tuesday, Flynn’s attorney filed a writ of mandamus with the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit, urging them to force Sullivan to step aside and allow the dismissal of the charges.

Either Comey or DNC Attorney Sussmann Lied Under Oath about Access to DNC Servers

The House Intelligence Committee released the 57 previously undisclosed transcripts from the Mueller probe into the Trump administration.

Chairman Adam Schiff only released the documents after DNI Rick Grenell threatened to release the documents earlier this week.

DNI Ric Grenell also released 53 transcripts Thursday from the Mueller investigation.

One of the transcripts released was the Mueller interview with Perkins Coie attorney Michael Sussmann. Sussmann left the DOJ’s Computer Crime/intellectual Property Section to work with Perkins Coie. Sussmann was hired by the DNC and met with and provided Christopher Steele with claims about Alfa Bank’s alleged ties to Vladimir Putin.

Barr Blasts Comey, Says FBI Tried to Lay a “Perjury Trap” For General Mike Flynn (VIDEO)

AG Bill Barr

US Attorney General Bill Barr blasted James Comey during an interview Thursday with CBS’s Catherine Herridge and said the FBI tried to lay a “perjury trap” for General Flynn.

The Justice Department dropped its case against General Mike Flynn Thursday after bombshell documents released proved he was framed by Comey’s FBI.

The DOJ said in its motion to dismiss that “The interview of Mr. Flynn was untethered to, and unjustified by, the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into Mr. Flynn.”

The DOJ was referring to the January 24, 2017 ambush FBI interview conducted by FBI counterintel chief Peter Strzok and FBI special agent Joe Pientka.

On January 4, 2017, the FBI field office found “No derogatory information” on Flynn and decided to close CROSSFIRE RAZOR.

The DOJ said the FBI kept open its counterintelligence investigation into Mr. Flynn based solely on his December 2016 calls with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak — A NON-CRIME!

In fact, James Comey bragged during an interview with Nicolle Wallace that he personally “sent” Strzok and Pientka to the White House on January 24, 2017 to ambush Flynn without his attorney present.

“I think a very important evidence here was that this was not a bonafide counterintelligence investigation was that they were closing the investigation in December. They started that process and on January 4th, they were closing it,” Barr said. “They initially tried some theories of how they could open another investigation, which didn’t fly, and then they found out that they had not technically closed the earlier investigation. And they kept it open for the express purpose of trying to catch, lay a perjury trap for General Flynn.”

Barr continued, “They didn’t warn him the way we usually would be required by the Department. They bypassed the Justice Department, they bypassed the protocols at the White House and so forth. These were things that persuaded me that there was not a legitimate counterintelligence investigation going on.”

Barr told Herridge that Durham is looking at the FBI’s conduct before and after the 2016 presidential election.

‘America needs you!’ Comey rallies anti-Trump #Resistance amid meltdown over DOJ dropping Flynn case — RT USA News

The Justice Department’s dropping of charges against former National Security Advisor Gen. Michael Flynn unleashed a torrent of liberal rage. Among those seething at the Trump administration was former FBI chief James Comey.

Flynn was one of the first Trump officials to be targeted by the FBI’s ‘Russiagate’ probe, and pleaded guilty in 2017 of lying to the Bureau about his communications with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

End of Russiagate? DOJ drops case against Trump adviser Flynn that started ‘witch hunt’

However, the Department of Justice on Thursday dropped the charges against the ousted general, arguing that the FBI’s investigation was conducted “without any legitimate investigative basis.”

Prior to the decision, unsealed documents revealed that Flynn had been entrapped by a group of FBI agents who had openly discussed plotting to thwart Trump’s election. Additionally, it emerged that disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok pushed to keep the Flynn case open, knowing that the agency had found “no derogatory information” about Flynn.

Comey – who ordered Strzok to interview Flynn, and previously admitted that this interview broke FBI protocol – stuck by his former agency on Thursday, and instead accused the DOJ of wrongdoing.

“The DOJ has lost its way,” he tweeted. “But, career people: please stay because America needs you. The country is hungry for honest, competent leadership.”

While Comey sang the praises of the FBI’s “career people,” President Donald Trump has described these same agency spooks – many of them holdovers from the Obama administration – as “human scum,” who orchestrated a “witch hunt” to force him out of office.

“What they’ve done is a disgrace, and I hope a big price is going to be paid,” the president told reporters on Thursday afternoon.

With Comey and Trump clearly at odds on what constitutes “honest, competent leadership,” liberal pundits and commentators focused their rage on Attorney General William Barr, who they see as a Trump loyalist.

“This is outrageous!”tweeted New York Rep. Jerry Nadler, himself one of the top Democrats who pushed for Trump’s impeachment. “Flynn PLEADED GUILTY to lying to investigators.  The evidence against him is overwhelming. Now, a politicized DOJ is dropping the case.”

“In a functional DOJ,”wrote CNN analyst Susan Hennessey, a former lawyer in the Obama administration, “[the dropping of charges] would prompt mass resignation.”

From liberal legal minds to TV pundits, the rage flowed in. Legal analyst Renato Mariotti called the DOJ’s behavior as “the sort of corruption you’d expect in a banana republic, not the United States of America.”

Curiously, none of these same pundits mentioned “corruption” or “banana republics” as the recent tranches of FBI documents revealed the effort to set Flynn up.

As the collection of Democrat personalities and Never-Trump Republicans raged on Twitter, the president’s supporters praised Barr as the first Trump-era AG willing to turn the tables on the ‘Russiagate’ “coup” plotters.

Some of them also took the DOJ’s decision as a sign of things to come, calling on Barr’s department to move against Comey, as well as a host of Democrat politicians and FBI figures next.

FBI Defends Chris Wray, Throws James Comey Under the Bus in Statement on New Flynn Documents

The FBI released a statement on the new Flynn documents produced to Flynn’s attorney casting doubt on Mueller’s prosecutor Brandon Van Grack’s compliance with a court order to produce “Brady” material.

On Tuesday FOX News reported on Prosecutor Brandon Van Grack’s failure to produce all evidence including favorable evidence on General Flynn to his attorneys.

The Bureau said Tuesday in a statement, “the FBI previously produced those materials to the Inspector General and U.S. Attorney Durham.”

It is unclear when the new Flynn documents were given to Horowitz and Durham.

“With regard to certain documents in the Michael Flynn matter from the 2016-2017 time period that are now the subject of reporting by the press, the FBI previously produced those materials to the Inspector General and US Attorney Durham,” the FBI said.

The FBI defended Director Wray and threw ‘failure’ James Comey under the bus

“The Flynn investigation was initiated and conducted during this time period, under prior FBI leadership….Director Wray remains firmly committed to addressing the failures under prior FBI leadership while maintaining the foundational principles of rigor, objectivity, accountability, and ownership in fulfilling the Bureau’s mission to protect the American people and defend the Constitution.”

Director Wray is shifting the blame to Comey now that bombshell documents exonerating Flynn are surfacing.

Mueller’s so-called ‘ongoing investigation’ allowed for the Justice Department to conceal all documents in Flynn’s case but now it’s all unraveling since AG Barr appointed a US Attorney to take over Mueller’s cases.

More Flynn documents surfaced Tuesday afternoon and “additional documents may be forthcoming.”
