(T.William Wallin/The Lumberjack) Tony Platt’s recently re-released book, “Grave Matters” digs into the Golden State’s dark history of not only massacring Indigenous Peoples, but later desecrating their graves and excavating their remains without their descendants’ consent. The United States of America is founded on the original sin of Native American genocide and the myth that the Indigenous Peoples that lived on these lands for thousands of years had no right to it. White settler colonialism is not just a stain on the country’s history, it is its very raison d’etre. To this day, all non-Native Americans live […]
Genocidal
At the beginning of October, young white farmer Brendin Horner was brutally murdered in South Africa’s Free State. Two black suspects have now been charged in relation to his killing, with the court hearing on the case witnessing riots from pressure groups which see Horner’s death as ethnically motivated. South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa rejected claims that recent attacks on farmers should be viewed as racial actions, according to his comments distributed in a weekly newsletter. “Contrary to the irresponsible claims of some lobby groups, killings on farms are not ethnic cleansing”, the President wrote. “They are not genocidal. They are acts […]
Earlier this week at a Knesset hearing on anti-Semitism a Twitter’s head of police for the Nordic Countries and Israel Ylwa Pettersson told the committee that Twitter censors President Trump for posts “glorifying violence” but not the tweets from Iranian tyrant Ayatollah Khamenei threatening genocide against Israel. Pettersson excused the threats against Israel as “foreign-policy saber rattling.” I kid you not! At Knesset hearing on Antisemitism, @Twitter rep tells me they flag @realDonaldTrump because it serves ‘public conversation’, but not Iran’s @khamenei_ir call for GENOCIDE, which passes for acceptable ‘commentary on political issues of the day’. cc. @CotlerWunsh pic.twitter.com/AXwjkrvlql — Arsen […]
Thursday marks the 75th commemoration of the Trinity Test, the first detonation of a nuclear bomb, in the New Mexico desert. However, the bomb’s dirty explosion has caused untold suffering downwind of the blast – suffering never acknowledged or compensated for by the US government, an expert told Sputnik. In the Jornada del Muerto region of New Mexico on July 16, 1945, the world entered the nuclear age. A nuclear explosion equivalent to 20,000 tons of TNT demonstrated that a viable city-annihilating weapon had been produced by the top-secret Manhattan Project and could be used to force the Japanese Empire to […]
Jon Schwarz NEW YORK CITY’S American Museum of Natural History announced Sunday that it will remove its famous statue of President Teddy Roosevelt from its sidewalk entrance. The museum’s president emphasized that the decision was made based on the statue’s “hierarchical composition” — Roosevelt is on horseback, flanked by an African man and a Native American man on foot — rather than the simple fact that it portrayed Roosevelt. The museum, co-founded by Roosevelt’s father, will keep Roosevelt’s name on its Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Hall, Theodore Roosevelt Rotunda, and Theodore Roosevelt Park. This suggests that Americans still have not faced the extraordinarily dark side of Roosevelt’s […]
