The NGO has detailed […]

US President Donald Trump has urged CNN to drop confrontational news host Chris Cuomo after a tape of Cuomo denying sexual harassment allegations in conversation with Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen was leaked. He speaks with great disrespect about women, and it will only get worse. Fredo’s Ratings are bad, so this is the time. Always terrible to speak to sleazebags, especially when you are being recorded. CNN has no […]
McDonald’s is suing ex-CEO Stephen Easterbrook for allegedly concealing relationships with employees. Axed for a consensual fling last year, he’s an ideal distraction from the fast food giant’s larger sexual harassment problem. The megachain has claimed that while Easterbrook admitted to one (consensual, non-physical) relationship with an employee when he was fired in November, he concealed three others — and destroyed evidence to cover his tracks, according to the lawsuit, revealed Monday in an SEC filing. He is accused of deleting sexually explicit photos and videos sent from corporate email accounts from his cell phone in order to keep them from […]

Judd brought her suit after news broke that Weinstein had told director Peter Jackson that she and Mira Sorvino could be a “nightmare to work with.” A lower court allowed Judd to move forward with her defamation and retaliation claims, but threw out […]

After a three-month stint in porn, Mia Khalifa called it quits. Given her limited experience in porn, with only a dozen scenes to her credit, disappearing back into civilian life was a reasonable expectation—or would have been, if the Lebanese-born star hadn’t become a global sensation at 21 years old for wearing a hijab in a XXX scene. Singled out by Islamic extremists, Khalifa received death threats and could no longer travel to certain countries safely but shrewdly used that same notoriety catapult herself into the top-tier of porn, achieving a level of status and recognition most women spend years of […]

The new proposal, modelled on the consent clause previously introduced by Finland’s neighbour Sweden, redefines the concept of harassment, which could lead to more convictions. Finland’s Justice Ministry has proposed redefining rape in terms of consent and lack thereof rather than in terms of violence, as is the case currently. The amended sex crime law will speak of “voluntary consent”, thus broadening the definition of rape. According to the working group report, lack of consent could be expressed verbally, using gestures or by way of “other actions”. Consent will not be assumed if a rape victim is rendered passive by fear […]
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of…a bunch of wealthy blowhards deciding that now, of all times, is the appropriate moment to ask us all to stop being so mean to them on Twitter. On Tuesday, Harper’s Magazine—the musty magazine of choice for musty magnates—published a ridiculous and delusional open letter signed by such luminaries as J.K. Rowling, Bari Weiss, David Brooks, Jesse Singal, and Malcolm Gladwell. The purpose of this screed? Ostensibly, to encourage “open debate.” But upon closer inspection, the upshot appears to […]
If you asked a Russian to name two Georgian-born public figures, it’s likely the answer would be Mikhail Saakashvili and Tina Kandelaki. The TV star explained that Georgians have a tradition of burying great leaders in Svetitskhoveli, a cathedral outside Tbilisi. There, the celebrated figures ashes are laid under the slab of the temple and people can walk on it. Kandelaki […]

Court documents from 1996 reveal that Tara Reade told her ex-husband about Joe Biden sexually harassing her when she worked in his senate office in 1993. Reade claims that Biden penetrated her with his fingers and kissed her without her consent in his senate office. According to a report from The Tribune in San Luis Obispo, the declaration by Reade’s then-husband Theodore Dronen does not say Biden committed the harassment nor does it mention her allegations of sexual assault, but it does say Reade told him about “a problem she was having at work regarding sexual harassment, in U.S. Senator Joe […]
