Above Photo: War on Want / Flickr. Amazon is winning big money contracts from governments across Europe but activists hope to turn this receipt of public money against the corporate giant. It was not long after stepping out of his shuttle that the richest man in the world thanked all Amazon employees and customers, adding “because you guys paid for all of this”. The public outrage at this crass and true statement was huge and justified. Amazon is notorious for cutting workers out, be that […]

Multiple videos appearing to show Black Lives Matter protesters celebrating the shooting and death of a Trump supporter have conservatives concerned about a “hunt” against their lives. Since the clash of a pro-Trump car caravan and counter-protesters in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday night and the subsequent shooting death of a man who is believed to be a Trump supporter, several videos have conservatives on social media calling out the left for what they claim is intentional violence against those who dissent from the current BLM and anti-Trump movements displayed in increasingly violent protests across the country. In one video that starts […]

The New York District Attorney’s Office on Monday filed new documentation aiming to refute the argument by Trump’s lawyers that a subpoena of his finances has no bearing. That document, Sputnik reported, revealed the investigation may go far beyond the money trail of “hush payments” given to several women to ensure their silence about past liaisons with Trump, and might include financial crimes such as bank and insurance fraud. “This is […]

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex has suffered a minor blow in its hunt for millions of dollars that went missing two years ago. Bitfinex’s parent firm, iFinex Inc., is seeking to trace $850 million in user funds seized by authorities in four different countries after bank accounts held by its payment processor, Crypto Capital, were frozen in August 2018. iFinex applied for subpoenas in Colorado, Arizona and Georgia in April, but the U.S. District Court of Georgia recently denied its request due to filing errors. According to a court ruling filed June 8, Magistrate Judge Alan J. Baverman said the bank iFinex is trying to subpoena merged with another financial […]
Investors remain confident in bitcoin’s long-term prospects despite the cryptocurrency’s struggle to pass $10,000, according to a key on-chain metric. The seven-day moving average of the total amount of bitcoin held in exchange addresses declined to 2,313,749 on Sunday – the lowest level since December 2018, according to data from blockchain intelligence firm Glassnode. Exchange balances have declined by nearly 13% over the last four months – a change indicative of a shift to a long-term holding strategy. “This could be related to more investors HODLing [holding], moving their funds to cold storage and/or keys they control themselves,” cryptocurrency exchange Luno […]
