Ex-President Barack Obama has recorded videos in support of his former vice-president and spoken by video link at the Democratic National Convention in August, but has not yet appeared at a live rally in support of Joe Biden. Former US President Barack Obama will hit the campaign trail for his old running-mate Joe Biden next week. Obama will headline a presidential campaign rally in Philadelphia, the capital of Pennsylvania on Wednesday October 21. It will be the first time Obama has appeared publicly in support of Biden’s campaign to win the presidency from incumbent Donald Trump, although the ex-president and his […]

Pennsylvania State Representative Wendy Ullman and Governor Tom Wolf were caught joking off camera about taking their masks off just before they spoke at a press conference touting the need to defend Obamacare during Covid-19. Just as Ullman was preparing to speak behind the podium on Tuesday at a press conference north of Philadelphia, Wolf can be heard off camera to her left, saying: “So Wendy, I’m gonna take, I’m gonna take my mask off when I speak.”Ullman walks toward Wolf, off camera, and says: “I will as well, just, I’m waiting so that we can do a little political theater.” […]

In a blistering report on Pennsylvania’s 12-year experience with hydraulic fracturing for natural gas, a special statewide grand jury said public health and the environment have suffered and the state’s environmental and health agencies, rather than acting as watchdogs, had a “culture of inadequate oversight.” “When it comes to fracking, Pennsylvania failed,” said […]
A recent story in The Atlantic suggested Donald Trump was working to appoint his supporters to the Electoral College so they can help swing the election his way, but one of the interviewees is now slamming the story as fake news. “The story is pure conjecture,” Pennsylvania Senate Majority Leader Jake Corman told the Washington Examiner. Corman says he spoke to Atlantic writer Barton Gellman last month and the conversation turned to a handful of hypothetical scenarios regarding the Electoral College. The story insinuates that Trump’s campaign is working with Republican state legislators to appoint electors who support him to the […]

Footage obtained by video licensor ViralHog captures Terp immediately taking several steps back after turning into a Halloween decor aisle and coming face-to-face with a growling werewolf bot. Although it took some encouragement, Terp eventually inspected the werewolf and laid down the law by barking a few times toward the bot. T-minus 40 days until Halloween. A federal judge in Pittsburgh has ruled that Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf was arbitrary and overreaching in his Covid-19 orders shutting down businesses and imposing other restrictions, violating citizens’ constitutional rights. Although the orders were undertaken “with the good intention of addressing a public health emergency,” they overstepped the government’s authority, US District Court Judge William Stickman IV, who was appointed to his position last year by President Donald Trump, said in his order Monday. “Even in an emergency, the authority of government is not unfettered,” Stickman said. “The liberties protected by the Constitution are not fair-weather freedoms – in place […]

Adams’ office said numerous buildings and vehicles were damaged and fires were set during overnight riots in the city. Adams added that police officers arrested several individuals allegedly involved in the incidents and that charges would be filed against them. “This office fully supports the right to gather and peacefully protest, however, the riotous behavior […]
If you don’t think Donald Trump could still win this election, then you’re snorting better Xanax than I am. Trump is a preternaturally gifted demagogue with riots and a bully pulpit to exploit. He has three debates still on the calendar, a history of stunning everyone, and a couple of months to work his magic. Counting him out at a time when cities are on fire would be insane. And here’s another reason: There are millions of potential voters out there you’ve probably never even thought of. And unlike the assumption that “bringing in new voters” means moderating your message or […]
Gregory Marcinski is 43 and incarcerated at a federal prison in Otisville, New York. He has never met or touched his partner Eva, who lives nearly 4,000 miles away in Bavaria, Germany. But when Eva opens his letters and fingers the stationery she knows he’s held, too, the sensation feels “a bit like holding hands.” Marcinski has been in prison for almost 20 years, serving two concurrent life sentences in Kentucky and New York for the charge of kidnapping resulting in death. Eva first reached out to him over a prison pen pal website in 2017. The two fell in love […]
The thing about being out as transgender is that everyone—and I do mean everyone—thinks they can freely express an opinion about your identity, how well you “pass” for the gender with which you identify, and even your existence. And they expect you to defend it. No, expect is the wrong word; they demand it. Case in point, Dr. Rachel Levine. She’s the pediatrician who is the secretary of health for Pennsylvania. Her “steady, composed, data-driven approach” to the COVID-19 pandemic has won her widespread praise. She’s also become the target of a torrent of online hate, in print and on the […]
One of the reasons Democrats went with Joe Biden is because they really want to win back Pennsylvania in November. Some polls show Biden having a slight lead over Trump in the state, but there are plenty of voters there, many of them Democrats, who know deep down that Biden and the Democrats will be bad news for jobs, especially in the energy sector. Trump has been great for the people of Pennsylvania and they know this. City Journal reports: TRENDING: Car Drives Through Mob of Protesters on Colorado Highway, Protester Shoots Fellow Protesters While Trying to Shoot Driver Democrats’ Pennsylvania […]
Pennsylvania authorities have launched a probe after a video, showing an officer kneeling on a man’s neck in Allentown, went viral, further fueling the outrage and nationwide protests against police brutality. Captured outside St. Luke’s Hospital-Sacred Heart hospital and widely shared by Black Lives Matter activists and even George Floyd family attorney, Ben Crump, the disturbing clip shows two officers restraining a screaming black man, while another cop briefly puts his knee on the suspect’s neck. The incident, not fatal but painfully reminiscent of the shocking death of George Floyd in a botched arrest attempt, triggered calls for the immediate termination and […]
Hard as it is to believe that anyone could think Donald Trump could be better than Joe Biden at anything, from running the country to drinking from a glass of water, there are such people. And it was those people to whom Biden pitched his economic speech Thursday afternoon in Dunmore, Pennsylvania, outside of Scranton, where he famously grew up in the pre-Dunder Mifflin era. It was not a speech for the ages, from a rhetorical point of view. But what he said was fine. Plenty fine. He had some very tough attack lines on Trump, as my colleague Hanna Trudo […]
Pennsylvania authorities on Wednesday continued their massive search for an Amish teenager who disappeared on Sunday after attending a church service—a move friends and family have described as “out of character” for the “sweet girl” who never caused trouble. Linda Stoltzfoos, 18, was last seen around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday at a farm on Stumptown Road in the heart of Pennsylvania’s bucolic Amish country, the East Lampeter Township Police Department told The Daily Beast. Authorities said that when Stoltzfoos—who was wearing a tan dress, white apron, and white cape—failed to return to her Beechdale Road home after attending a church service […]
Joe Biden was a Senator for Delaware before becoming Obama’s VP but his home state is Pennsylvania. You may have heard Biden referred to as ‘Scranton Joe’ in the past. But now it’s coming to light that he may not be able to deliver Pennsylvania to the Democrats this fall. Trump won the state in 2016. The attorney for the family of a University of Connecticut student wanted in a deadly three-rampage said he has “struggled with mental health issues” and urged him to turn himself in. “It’s time to let the healing process begin,” lawyer Michael Dolan said at a Monday evening press conference. “It’s time to surrender.” The FBI and police in three states are hunting for Peter Manfredonia, 23, who was last seen on foot in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, carrying a large duffel bag that may contain weapons stolen from one of the victims. He’s accused of hacking to death a Connecticut woodworker and […]
If health and safety fears weren’t enough to trouble local officials during the coronavirus pandemic, some Republican leaders are making it clear to nervous locals that their health restrictions could lead to a legal fight. GOP state leaders in Texas and South Dakota have sent clear warnings in the last week challenging areas in their state going rogue when it comes to health measures as the leaders practice a much more lax approach. Alabama’s Republican attorney general has also struck a similar tone in his state during the pandemic, warning in a statement late last month that municipalities’ expansive powers “is […]

Rain flushes dog poop, pesticides, fungicides and other chemicals from those grassy surfaces into local streams. The springtime spreading of fertilizer to keep grass thick and green is a troublesome source […]
Dr. Rachel Levine Pennsylvania Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine admitted he moved his own mother out of a senior facility to a hotel while the Coronavirus was sweeping through nursing homes and killing elderly residents. Dr. Levine, who is the first transgender person appointed to a Pennsylvania Cabinet, became secretary of health in 2017. The Coronavirus is ravaging nursing homes across the US because of deadly Democrat policies of forcing people infected with COVID-19 back into the long-term care facilities. Dr. Levine however made sure his 95-year-old mother was removed from the death box and transported safely to a hotel. TRENDING: […]
Governor Tom Wolf, D, Pennsylvania, is popping his lid at the notion that counties are planning on opening up without his approval and in defiance of his orders. In the minds of the democrats, only they are allowed to decree when businesses are allowed to operate. In fact, Governor Wolf is vowing to withhold funding from these counties. Wolf is somehow framing this as an act of “surrender” and “cowardice.” Because somehow in the minds of the democrats it’s brave to stay quarantined in your own home. The Franklin County Journal reports: The revolt by a dozen or more Pennsylvania counties […]
As states rush to get back to work and President Donald Trump orders the nation’s coronavirus task force to switch its focus to reopening the economy, health experts are pressing more than ever the need for contact tracing. It’s a tool that proved effective in past epidemics like SARS and Ebola, and it’s regarded as essential to safely reopening the country with the looming threat of higher surges in cases. But it’s also complex and time-consuming. Before the coronavirus pandemic, there were only about 2,200 contact tracers, or disease detectives, in the U.S., according to the Association of State and Territorial […]
