On the second night of its national convention, the Party of Trump resorted to reruns, hammering home the message he’s been pushing for four years: That the radical left—with help from Communist China and the Lamestream Media—is hellbent on destroying the traditional (white) American way of life, and the only person who can stop them is Trump. Among the invitees to take up the theme was Nicholas Sandmann, the Kentucky prep school student who became a darling of the right after he and his MAGA hat went viral following an incident with a Native American activist last year. Sandmann blasted the […]

In one day, John Kasich managed to make AOC and Donald Trump mad at him. I guess we know why his is the road less traveled. Standing at a literal crossroads (or was it a fork in the road?) the former Ohio governor did the unthinkable for a man once thought of as a conservative Gingrich Republican: He spoke at the Democratic National Convention on behalf of Joe Biden for president. “I’m a lifelong Republican, but that attachment holds second place to my responsibility to my country,” Kasich said. “In normal times, something like this would probably never happen, but these […]
In her very first segment as a primetime host on MSNBC, Joy Reid welcomed former Vice President Joe Biden for a largely conflict-free interview that touched on everything from President Donald Trump’s response to the coronavirus pandemic—“He’s surrendered,” Biden declared—to his own complicated history on criminal justice reform. For her final question, Reid brought up an issue that she has been pressing on her weekend show, AM Joy, for several weeks. “Most African-Americans that I’ve talked to on a daily basis are very concerned that Black women in particular have been the heartbeat of the Democratic Party for a long time, […]
MSNBC’s Joy Reid will become the network’s first black prime time anchor. An unabashed progressive, Reid is a fierce critic of President Donald Trump. She’s also been accused of lying through her teeth. Reid’s promotion to prime-time status seems like a tactical one for MSNBC, given the national nervous breakdown over race in recent weeks. Her show, ‘The ReidOut’, will offer standard Washington political punditry, but will also address race, class and policing, as well as other “cataclysmic social issues we need to reckon with,” she told the New York Times on Wednesday. “I am a Black mom, a Black woman, […]
Less than a year after quitting Fox News amid clashes with his right-wing colleagues, Shepard Smith is returning to cable news. The consummate newsman has signed a deal with CNBC to host a nightly evening news broadcast, a person with direct knowledge of the deal confirmed to The Daily Beast on Wednesday. Smith’s hard-news show, appropriately titled The News with Shepard Smith, will air at 7 p.m., following Jim Cramer’s Mad Money, and is set to premiere sometime before the election. The former longtime Fox anchor had been in talks with MSNBC, CNN, and Vice before ultimately signing with the financial […]
